I know, I know—this week’s “My Vagina Was Broken” story was a lot to unpack. But the truth is, many of us ignore the red flags our bodies wave at us, especially when it comes to anything down there. And that’s exactly why I’m sharing a few tips I wish I’d had before I landed in urgent care, questioning my entire existence.
1. Don’t Wait for “Permission” to Seek Help
If something feels off, trust your gut. Waiting nine weeks for an appointment could mean nine extra weeks of pain, stress, and (ahem) razor-sharp micro-cuts. If one provider can’t see you soon enough, call another. That extra push could literally save you from agony.
2. Keep a Quick Symptom Log
We all think we’ll remember exactly when something started hurting, but life gets busy. Having notes on your phone or a small journal about your daily symptoms can help your doctor connect the dots faster. It’s extra handy if you’re juggling menopause changes or lingering health mysteries.
3. You Are Not Alone
Shame thrives in silence. So speak up—tell a friend, drop a comment here, or join a support group. There’s a whole community of us who’ve dealt with weird, painful, or just plain TMI body moments. (Trust me, my DMs are full of “No one told me this could happen!” stories.)
Remember the Bigger Picture
When we speak openly and share experiences, we break down the weird walls that make women’s health so hush-hush. I’m on a mission to make healthcare feel less like a dreaded chore and more like an empowering routine. If you need help navigating a confusing insurance plan or finding the right specialist, check out the link in my bio for a free 15 health navigation session and more details on how we can work together—because no one should face health mysteries alone.
Until next time—stay curious, advocate for yourself, and keep you living your fabulous life.
